Monovision-LASIK

Monovision can be a wonderful solution for getting rid of glasses or bifocals for patients in their 40s and 50s. Monovision-LASIK is performed in the same fashion as standard LASIK and can even be performed with Custom Wavefront and IntraLase^®.

Many contact lens patients who do not want to wear reading glasses or bifocals have a contact lens prescription which leaves one eye well-corrected at distance and the other eye better corrected at near. LASIK or PRK can be used to correct the eye’s optics to create this situation without the use of contact lenses. If you have never used contact lenses in this way before, Dr. Klein will perform a trial testing period to help decide if monovision-LASIK is the right choice for you.
